IвЂ™ve experienced many birth, death, anniversaries, and holidays over the years, and I understand how tough it can be to know what to doвЂ“how to handle it, how to make it through. Will it be a day of remembering our loved one fondly? Will it be a day of remembering the pain of their loss? Can any holiday ever feel the same again?

Most of us donвЂ™t know what to expect when they start creeping up. I can still see her blond curls bouncing as she laughed and played in the grassy yard.ДЄnd, in less than two weeks, it will have been one year since my dear friend, Jody, died. My youngest sister, Miki, who died twenty-two years ago, is forever frozen as a little girl, barely eight, even though this summer, she would have been turning thirty. SheвЂ™s f orever frozen in my memory at thirty-one. Monday was my sister, ShannonвЂ™s, birthday. Birthdays and death anniversary days have been on my mind.
